A simple start
Hi…
Just a very simple hello for this first post.
And my intention for what this space will become.
Skyscrapering, was born because for years and years, I have kept lists and notebooks that I call my ‘Curiosity Lists’.
A collection of experiences that instigated expansion. And belief.
Not all of the lists had extraordinary experiences, but enough that for awhile, chasing them became my signature.
Friends started to ask how they can do some of the things I’ve done, too.
And I thought, at first, that’s what I would pursue- a prescription for how to fulfill certain experiences- what to do, how to get there, how to make it happen. All of the links. Via a blog or newsletter.
I’m not a gatekeeper, I love sharing. Yet, fulfilling this felt hollow to me. Because I know from experience, that what they would really need help with was navigating the path afterwards.
And so, I started the work of translating what I knew intuitively through my own transformation cycles, into tangible frameworks that documented patterns.
And now, we’re here. With many avenues coming to explore.
This blog, this space, will be dedicated to the pursuit of experiences that intrigue me. I’ll be sharing little ‘curiosity postcards’ of something I’ve done or wonder about.
For me, ‘curiosity lists’ are not the same as bucket lists. I find the latter to be limiting and admonishing.
‘Curiosity Lists’ are expansive. They instigate growth, wonder, unveiling.
Not pressure.
Some things on the lists are just pure wants but mostly they are experiences that I wanted to witness myself going through. I wanted to feel it. I figured if one person could do it, then so could I. And I did.
And there are also so many things I will not do. How I could say no to scuba diving but zero hesitation to go wing-walking, is beyond comprehension for people.
But isn’t that beautiful part of it? Doing experiences that align for you? Even if they don’t makes sense to anyone else. I believe firmly that you get to decide the path for yourself.
And yes, it’s cool to say you did something. But, it feels so much more impactful when it’s about observing yourself increase skills and break beliefs about what’s possible for you.
And I’ll tell you, this project right here, has felt harder than many of my adventures, and yet, absolutely aligned. It’s absolutely where my life has been leading me towards.
Goals and dreams show up in a myriad of ways.
My intention with these ‘Curiosity Postcards’ will be to spark wonder in you. Or ideas. Or even a very clear knowing of what is not for you.
The greater our self-literacy, the stronger our self-agency.
And that’s the source of strong communities. Helping others feels easy when you know how to take care of you in the process.
And with that, I will sign off.
Until the next post…
